Since WHRW is temporarily running on automation while we iron out some details of how and when to re-reopen the station, here’s a hunk of Uncle Pete to treat your ears with this week.  It’s an excerpt from The Uncle Pete Show of August 28, 1991.  Forty-six minutes and forty-four seconds of fun from the days when radio was much freer and The Uncle Pete Show could play all sorts of naughty bits without fear of the powers-that-be crashing down on it. This show featured the Happy Flowers, the Descendants, D.O.A., the Didjits, the Dickies, the Feelies, and a moving ballad from the Rev. Billy C. Wirtz about Bernie The Toaster, the toaster who wanted to be Johnny Cash.  Plus there was brand new music from Mudhoney, NRBQ, and Binghamton’s own Meat Dept. (with yours truly Uncle Pete on lead vocals).  Plus news of an upcoming Abalienation/Atomic Fear/Siren Flower show coming up on September 7 at Fuoco’s in Syracuse!

There’s a playlist posted at Uncle Pete Official on Facebook.  And you can always reach me at unclepeteshow (without the space in there).

Listen!  Enjoy!  Share!! Make sure to tell your friends about The Uncle Pete Show!!! And remember to “like” Uncle Pete Official on Facebook!

Here’s the audio archive of the show:
